Our car is in the shop. We'd been hearing a rattling sound from the rear for a few weeks, and it started getting worse. We only heard it when we coasted after barely pressing on the gas. Under 10 mph.
So we took it in last night when it just got to be too much to deal with.
It turns out the rear differential needs to be replaced.
The car is under warranty. And that's what we're thankful for. Apparently I bought an extended warranty on the car too, which I didn't realize.
