simplicity

As I took my walk this evening, I encountered a little boy (3-4)playing with a cardboard tube in his front yard. He was swinging it as a sword at the imaginary pirates and chopping down the tree, and throwing it across the lawn - probably imagining the bad guys getting away and throwing his weapon as a last resortm

This short scene brought a smile to my face. I wonder, as I type this on my Palm Treo, what simple pleasures do I have. What small things do I ignore that could be my imaginry sword? How many times have I passed up the opportunity for something free or small only to be disappointed with the overpriced piece of technology?

Here's to enjoying the simple things in life, being content with what God gives me, and not searching for the next BIG toy that will make me happt.
